Train ride to Montreal…
Lon | January 28, 2006I decided to take the ViaRail (the train that connects across Canada) for my business trip to Montreal this week. There’s wi-fi acccess onboard and the image of the voxtropolis login screen with the train station came to mind. It’s amazing what humans have done to stay connected.
There is something about being on a train. There’s a sense that you’re multitasking because you’re travelling, yet it’s incredibly relaxing. You’re presented with moving sceneries of nature, cities, and loved-ones hugging as they re-connect at each stop. It also really helps when you’re being pampered in 1st class with your every need met… swordfish and filet mignon were on the menu today, incredible.
Here’s a picture from of the city from my hotel suite. It’s interesting how in the dark, you can only see what the light hits…

Gotta love Canada for being the most connected country in the world. Now if only I could move there… I’ve always wanted to visit Montreal. That’s a beautiful picture. Thanks for posting it. I can live vicariously through you.

Lon, I love your picture! I've not been to Montreal.
rachel | February 1, 2006Lon, I love your picture! I’ve not been to Montreal. I’ve got family in Canada and went to visit them a few years ago. I think it’s a beautiful country. We were in Calgary, Jasper, Banff and Toronto. I think the scenery is stunning. Such a vast country as well. All this talk is making me want to go back! There are loads of places I’ve not seen. Your train sounds cool too! I always find someone to talk to on a train! You meet interesting people.
