Crest Lemon Ice

by Lon on March 2, 2009

crest-lemon-iceI love my new toothpaste, Crest: Lemon Ice.  It’s the tastiest thing ever.  It feels as if you’re brushing your teeth with a lemon danish!

But, I just discovered it’s been discontinued.

The last consumer product I loved like this was Gillette’s Wild Rain Body Wash 8 years ago.  Made me feel like I just stepped out of the jungle!  I wrote a plea to head office, to no avail.

This time, I’m calling on all Lemon Ice lovers to come together and bring this one back!

Update: sign the petition to Bring Lemon Ice Crest back!

The thing I liked about Lemon Ice, was that it left the mouth refreshed and clean feeling, yet the taste cleared the mouth quickly, with no lingering medicinal or other tastes.

I’m using an old tube of Crest orange, and it tastes like medicine/spices. Crest Lemon was the best flavor toothpaste I’ve ever used. I wish I’d bought a case of it.

I love(d) Crest lemon ice toothpaste, and I don’t see why they couldn’t continue manufacturing this one little thing – especially seeing as they kept the gross herbal and cinnamon flavours, not to mention the hundred thousand identical flavours of mint. Lemon ice was perfect! I emailed Crest about it but didn’t get a response. Maybe we can start a movement. Bring back Lemon Ice!

I’m just putting in my vote for Lemon Ice (I like the tube and not the stand up, liquid type.). So true, they have 8 million kinds of mint, why not keep the lemon.

I already tried to complain, they did not bother to respond. These manufacturers suck, they get you hooked on something and then stop making it. I guess it is back to kids toothpaste since I dispise the taste of mint!

I keep texting them to tell them I too want my lemon ice back. I found it on the internet for awhile but bought some about a month ago-got 8 or 9 trial size tubes and it cost me $24.00!!! Stupid me, so desparate for my toothpaste…I got it and the dam stuff was expired!! All I have to say is I REALY, REALY, REALY want my crest lemon ice back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!

I am freaking out. I’m on my last tube of my beloved Lemon Ice. I must now save it for a special treat so It will last awhile longer.
I originally got this toothpaste in Canada then had to have friends there send me more. Little did I know that I should have had them send me A LOT more! This product was never advertised or promoted in Minnesota…they didn’t even give it a fair chance before discontinuing it. I agree, mint is gross and there is 10000000 kinds of it…yuck. I don’t get it, why NO variety and why no LEMON ICE?! PLEASE, PLEASE, bring back Lemon Ice.
(Does anyone really think Proctor and Gamble gives a damn?)

ARGH! this is awful! I HATE HATE HATE mint and cinnamon!
When I found the Lemon Ice a few years ago, I was thrilled!
Then, when I had a difficult time finding it, I bought the last 6 tubes they had at Walgreens. I’m down to the very end of my last tube. I’m so bummed!

Wow, I never knew there could be such an uproar about toothpaste. I am on the phone as I write this with my friend who grieving about the loss of her beloved Lemon Ice toothpaste. I have never tried it myself, but my god there has to be something to this stuff. You all do have a point though, with the millions of mint flavors out there, I wonder why they would take one of the few alternatives off the market. Good luck with the fight.

Bruce, thanks for your support!! It sure feels like a pointless battle but as long as I have teeth to brush, I’ll fight the good fight!

Given a tube of Crest ‘lemon ice’ toothpaste. Like many, I am such a fan of lemons.

Went to buy more, but no longer available. Now I understand why all the fuss. A truly unique toothpaste (I would buy it from a foriegn country if I could find it).

Was it perceived to be harmful? Was Crest frightened by litigation? Put me on the buyer’s waiting list.

This is the response I got from Crest shortly after writing them today:

Thanks for writing, Carole,

I’m sorry to hear how much you miss Crest Whitening Expressions Lemon Ice. Generally, decisions to start or stop making products are based on consumer demand, so feedback like yours is EXTREMELY valuable! Please be assured I’m sharing your disappointment with the rest of our team.

Since I don’t have a recommendation for you at this time, you may want to check our brand websites for information about our current products. You might find a new favorite!

Keep writing Proctor and Gamble and Crest. I know I will and… who knows? We will never get it back if we don’t try. It might also be helpful to write to other toothpaste manufacturers like Colgate. Refer them to this blog…someday someone will have to pick up the ball as there really is enough mint already and basicaly no other choices. Very weird in this day and age of 8 million choices of everything.

Carolina January 5, 2010 at 8:15 pm

Oh boy…Crest sent me a coupon for free toothpaste. Hmmm, what to choose, what to choose. Let’s see…..MINT?
I’m going to bug Colgate…maybe they will pick up the ball.

I loved that lemon ice toothpaste. They couldn’t keep it on the shelves when it was available.I think it was pulled because it prevented sales of all their other products.Anyone know where I can find some?

Carolina February 6, 2010 at 2:59 pm

Good luck Cindy,
The rest of us have searched far and wide, to no avail. I even asked the folks at Crest if they didn’t have a couple of dusty ol; boxes in the back room but, no…it’s all gone. BUG CREST, I do.!!!!

So, has anyone started a petition to bring back this flavor? It’s too bad no one can get a response from Crest about it. I just e-mailed them today (I’m on the LAST SQUEEZES of my last tube of Lemon Ice), but I don’t expect to hear anything back.

If anyone else thinks a petition would be a good idea, I’d be glad to get one going and start spreading it around! How many signatures do you think it would take to get Crest to bring Lemon Ice back?
