Anyone else playing this? It’s a mashup combining google maps and the classic monopoly game. You can buy virtually any street on the planet! It just started and doesn’t take long to play each day. Streets are going fast. I’d love to know if anyone else who follows this is playing.

Star Defense game app by ngmoco has been my latest time killer – ie. waiting in the checkout line at the supermarket. I had no idea i liked defense games until I tried them. StarDefense ranks up there with Fieldrunners, if not even better.

It’s a lot less time consuming, and it didn’t take me too long to finish the game on ‘normal’ mode.

Some tips for those of you looking…because I sure couldn’t find any online.

- Third planet in was the hardest for me
- I use everything except the electric tower thing
- On slight occasions the electric coil was used in a tight space where it covered at least 3 sides of damage since it’s so slow
- a healthy balance of the rest of the arsenal is needed
- it staggers, but i tend to use the plasma blasters more, then the cannons, the slow guns in good spots just before there’s heavy artillery, and the quantum canon laser thing more and more towards the end – it’s got excellent coverage – and is needed more for the viceroy that show up in the last half of a round.

Flight Control is a hot new app that’s addictive but also easy to put down. The game only lasts for a few minutes and all you simply do is help guide airplanes down a track. It makes great use of the iphone/ipod touch screen interface.

Search for it on the app store. Here’s my top score… I haven’t been able to topple a hundred again for quite a while now.

I love my new toothpaste, Crest: Lemon Ice.  It’s the tastiest thing ever.  It feels as if you’re brushing your teeth with a lemon danish!

But, I just discovered it’s been discontinued.

The last consumer product I loved like this was Gillette’s Wild Rain Body Wash 8 years ago.  Made me feel like I just stepped out of the jungle!  I wrote a plea to head office, to no avail.

This time, I’m calling on all Lemon Ice lovers to come together and bring this one back!

My whole family’s been sick the past week, and when i’m sick and stuck in bed, i play time-killing games in bed.

This probably doesn’t interest any of my regular readers, but I had over a thousand hit/searches from my last field runners post, so I thought I’d share again with the latest version.

This is the best I could do with field runners v1.2 release of the new map ‘dry lands’ on hard mode.

I personally find hard mode easier, because there’s more things to shoot and hence more stuff you can buy with your killings.

The new ‘extended mode’ is interesting and looks pretty, but I don’t find it actually helps much with game play.

Unlike the other maps, I think this one’s impossible to do without toggling the bombers around.  The only way to get down the helicopters is by splitting up the traffic as other runners are crossing the field.

TapDefense, I had no idea they had mini-challenge modes after finishing the game before.  “This is sparta” mode on hard requires that you complete the game with a 9-tower maximum.  Fairly easy once you pass round 30.

That’s all.

I hope I never post again about how I wasted my time.  Hopefully this saves some poor soul out there a couple hours.

I’m a big fan of things like inbox zero but it just doesn’t seem to be working out for me.

Here’s a snapshot of my current gmail inbox at 30,199, unread.  I just responded to some emails from six months ago and realized how ridiculous it was.

Anyone got tips for me?

Last night I got really hungry in the middle of the night, scavenged some way expired beef jerky, and ate away in bed.

Today my stomach feels awful, in addition to my broken back.

After finishing field runners, i got into tap defense. this is the kind of junk i do when i feel completely incapacitated.

I’m such a geek.  I don’t usually play games period… but a friend got me hooked on this game for my ipod touch.

It’s been my latest obssession, to the point of playing it under the covers in the middle of the night.  I’m glad I finally finished it.

Here are my screenshots of it completing it on ‘hard’ mode, because it was such an accomplishment… now I can get on with my life.

btw, just a side rant. Why do Mom’s have the market on parenting? Going through parenting websites and flipping through parenting books, it’s always assumed that I’m a woman.

I get email updates from baby center, after registering that I was male, telling me about what’s going on with your breasts, or how to get your husband more involved.

And then there’s the awkwardness when I take Stellar to the children’s play area in Chapters Bookstore. There’s usually a crowd of random women laughing it up as they watch over their kids. I walk in and have a seat, and there’s a sudden silence. Shh.. there’s a male here.

Of course, as I walk about, more often than not, I usually overhear them ridiculing their husbands.

I know there’s nothing like a mother’s love, but plenty of dad’s got game too!
